About This Project

Shiki-no-mizukaki (Nara) and Mt. Aogaki in the East

This area is bounded by the Hase River to the right and the Makimuku River to the left. Where place the two rivers meet was once a sacred territory of Miwa Shrine. Since the ancient days there has been no grave within Mizukaki, and even imperial mausoleums are located outside the castle. Shikishima is located along the upper Hase River, commonly referred to as the southern area of the Miwa Mountains. An old bridge on the right side of the drawing has been there since the ancient days, but the surrounding bamboo bushes have been cut down and replaced with concrete banks.
