About This Project

Nirvana

This is a sketch for a size-100 oil painting. I had the oil painting displayed in my room for a while, and then I moved it to a temple in Shimofusa. The old temple on the mountainside had a high-humidity climate, so the artwork became moldy after about 10 years and its surface changed color. By that time it was too late to preserve the original coloring, and the tone of the artwork had changed to a brownish color.
